Looking out upon the autumn hills that run along Lowery Creek on an unseasonably warm start to November, it is easy to imagine a hiking trail here. The sound of flowing water and the breeze rustling the sedges provides the perfect environment to reflect, recharge, or recreate.
This afternoon, the Driftless Trail Committee met at the Cates Farm in Spring Green to discuss the possibility of developing a 50 mile backpacking and hiking trail that would connect Tower Hill, Governor Dodge, and Blue Mounds State Parks.
This 20-year project would be an asset to the region, creating opportunities for a variety of different populations. This project would create access for hikers, birders, and anglers to explore and enjoy one of the Driftless Area’s most precious gems.
