Driftless Area Land Conservancy (DALC) and REI Co-op, in partnership with Taliesin Preservation, are working at one of America’s most iconic sites – Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin – to build trail that will link to DALC’s proposed Driftless Trail, a 50-mile hiking trail that connects three (3) Wisconsin State Parks and other private and public conservation lands. Starting from the parking lot of Frank Lloyd Wright Visitors Center (at the corner of Highway 23 and County Highway C near Spring Green), trail building crews will gather at 9AM Friday September 28 for a training session on sustainable trail building. Following training, we’ll break into teams and start building trail! And at the end of a great day of work we’ll head into Spring Green for wood fired pizza and beverages. And, if you’re a glutton for punishment, join us the following morning, Saturday September 29, to finish the job! Join friends, make new ones and help create enchanting experiences for explorers of the Driftless Area.
Note: Long pants and long sleeves are advised as running into poison ivy is a real possibility.
