Mike is a recently-retired attorney who practiced over the last 36 years out of the Madison, Wisconsin office of Foley & Lardner, LLP, a large 1,000-plus attorney law firm with offices across the Country. Prior to that, he clerked for the Honorable Nathan S. Heffernan, then the Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and for Judge Robert Bochever on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mike obtained his law degree with high honors from the University of Wisconsin and his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado (with Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors).
He is married with 3 sons and 2 grandchildren, and resides on a 380-acre nature preserve started by his grandparents that is located in the beautiful Driftless Area of Southwest Wisconsin. Mike’s passions are his family, working on his land, and pursuing various outdoor activities ranging from skiing in the American Birkebeiner for 30 consecutive years to taking annual canoe trips in the Quetico Wilderness area in Canada.
