Sarah’s love for the natural world is deeply rooted in her childhood, growing up in the North woods of Wisconsin. This commitment became more formalized during her undergraduate years at Colby College, where she studied Environmental Science and Policy. Life then took her to Chicago, where she shared the wonders of the natural world with people of all ages, and from all walks of life, as a naturalist. Sarah found special interest in introducing her youngest audiences to the outdoors and returned to graduate school to examine this intersection of early childhood and nature through a Master’s Degree at the Erikson Institute. Since returning to Wisconsin, she has enjoyed continuing this important work of bringing nature into the lives of Driftless Area youth.
“Fostering a sense of wonder and connection between young children and the natural world, and seeing the important, positive role this can play in healthy development continues to fascinate and inspire me.”
