Resolution to Oppose Cardinal Hickory-Creek

“There was great testimony last night and Resolution 577 passed the Dane County Board with just one abstention.” Said District 28 Supervisor, Nikki Jones.

The approved resolution requests a “cost/benefit analysis” of all electrical needs options in comparison to building new, huge, expensive high capacity transmission lines.  Over 120 municipalities in Wis. have adopted similar resolutions concerning both the Badger-Coulee line from LaCrosse to Middleton and the Cardinal-Hickory Creek line from Cassville to Middleton.

The resolution is not as strong as DALC would prefer, which would state outright opposition to the project.  When DALC Community Organizer, Chuck Tennessen spoke in favor of the Dane Co. resolution he indicated that DALC hoped this would be a stepping stone to a stronger Opposition resolution.

We need folks to come to the Iowa Co. Board of Supervisors meeting on May 16 to speak in favor of the resolution they are considering to OPPOSE the proposed line.

The Supervisors of the Iowa County Board urgently need to hear from you concerning your opposition to the unneeded and hugely expensive CHC line.

It’s easy to send an e-message to all the supervisors.  Please visit ProtectTheDriftless.com or simply click our “Letter Writing Packet” for talking points as well as the supervisor contact information.

We encourage you to mark your calendars and make it a priority to attend the next Iowa County Board meeting and show support for our resolution to oppose CHC.
