DESCRIPTION:Join bat biologists at Taliesin for the property’s first comprehensive bat emergence count! While overwintering bats have been monitored here for over a decade\, this survey focuses on bats that use the historic buildings for summer day roosting. Your participation will help guide future bat monitoring and conservation efforts and inform planned building projects that could affect these important roosts. Journey into the valley to learn firsthand land stewardship and restoration in a variety of Wisconsin’s natural communities\, including oak savannas\, wetlands\, dry prairies\, and more. Workday activities here are just as diverse as the wildlife that calls this valley home. These activities include invasive species management\, prescribed fire\, trash and debris clean-up\, plant and animal surveys\, and numerous other fun and exciting projects. \nThe terrain at Wild Oaks can be steep and uneven. You are encouraged to work at your own pace and take plenty of breaks.
