Savor Farm & Food Tour
Savor the River Valley will have its 4th annual Earth Day Farm & Food Tour on Saturday, April 25th, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This free, family-friendly, self-guided tour includes 11 stops between Plain and Ridgeway and an after-party.
The tour highlights local people producing food in ways that protect our soil, water, air, and our communities. There will be many opportunities to see and taste the difference it makes.
On the tour, you can take a wagon ride, visit baby animals, see cheese being made, and grain being milled. You can also learn about regenerative farming, raising pastured meats, and agroforestry. Explore an orchard. Visit a kitchen garden. Participate in perennial crop research. Purchase plants to grow at home. And indulge in small-batch ice cream, truffles, smash burgers, authentic tamales, and wood-fire pizza, to name a few of the offerings available.
Savor the River Valley is a grass-roots initiative to connect farmers, food processors, food retailers, and restaurants to support each other and to bring more visibility to the food they produce, sell, and serve. In 2025, Wisconsin Rural Partners named Savor Wisconsin’s Top Rural Development Initiative for demonstrating partnership and collaboration in creating positive community impacts. Savor is a project of River Valley Commons.
