Evenings Afield: Protect the Night – Enjoy & Preserve Dark Skies
Experience the wonders of the night sky and learn how to protect it from light pollution. Excess light not only dims our view of the stars but can also impact wildlife, energy use, and human health. Join us to identify familiar constellations and contribute as a citizen-scientist by measuring night sky brightness through the Globe at Night campaign. Bring a light (red preferred) and binoculars if available. In the event of cloudy weather, the event will be rescheduled to October 15th.
The Lowery Creek Watershed Initiative is a community-driven partnership of residents, farmers, conservation organizations, and local partners working together to protect water quality, support resilient agriculture, and steward the natural and cultural landscape of the valley.
