Evenings Afield: International Designations
In 2019, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The following year, the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway was designated a Wetland of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention. Both of these designations met rigorous international criteria and help safeguard these special places for the future. Join us for a visit to the Taliesin and Wintergreen properties to learn about these honors and how bird surveys contributed to the Riverway’s designation.
The Lowery Creek Watershed Initiative is a community-driven partnership of residents, farmers, conservation organizations, and local partners working together to protect water quality, support resilient agriculture, and steward the natural and cultural landscape of the valley.
